Gum ball War....

“What is a Gum Ball?” you may say. It is a prickly thing that grows on Sweet Gum trees. I, and my friends, dubbed the thing a Gum Ball. A while back, some friends of mine, and myself, developed a war game where in these Gum Balls became weapons. It is rather fun! ;) Anyhow, I composed a Constitution of sorts for Gum Ball wars. It has been a while since I have read it, so I don’t really know how good it is. It has set in dormant for some time… So now, I resurrect the “Official Rules and Regulations for Gum Ball Wars.” Enjoy…. (If you can)

The Official
Rules & Regulation
for
Gumball Wars
2005

Article 1.

Section 1. Before the war commences a base must be established for each team. These bases cannot be in close proximity to the Ammunition Depot. No base may be located at the Ammunition Depot.

Section 2. Each base must be (or near) equal size per sq. foot of ground as all other bases. This rule can be ignored by a quorum (simple majority) vote of all teams involved in the war before the war begins.

Section 3. If there is a base desired by more than one team, the leader the teams desiring the base must conduct a single foot race. The winner of the said race will receive the right to be the proprietor of the base during the entire war. If the odds of the race are severely in favor of one team than no race should be conducted. In the stead of the race a coin toss will determine which team gets the desired base. The decision to use a coin toss over a foot race must be decided by a non-biased adult not involved in the war.

Section 4. It is the duty of each team to keep gumballs at their base during the entire war. There must always be no less than 40 gumballs at a base during the entire war. This rule does not apply during a battle.

Article 2.

Section 1. There shall be a designated Ammunition Depot that shall be used by all teams during the war. This Depot shall be decided upon before the war by a quorum vote of all teams involved in the war. No person may be physically blocked from entering the Depot at any time during the war.

Section 2. This Depot shall be in relative easy access by all teams form their base if possible.

Section 3. If there are other places besides the designated weapons Depot to retrieve gumballs, then no team should be restricted from retrieving gumballs from that spot during the war.

Section 4. There shall be no time limit set in place in reference to how long someone may stay in the Depot.

Section 5. It shall be illegal to attack or hit anyone with gumballs if they are in the Depot.

Section 6. It shall be illegal to be in the Depot unless collecting gumballs or running or walking through it.

Section 7. The Depot shall not change during the war unless the Depot is exhausted of its resources. In such a case a new Depot may be created in the midst of a war by a quorum vote of the teams involved.

Article 3.

Section 1. There shall have to be 10 battles fought and won by a team against each team before the war can end. The war shall end immediately after one team has won 10 battles against each team involved in the war. If one team is defeated 10 times they are eliminated from the war. The number of battles required to win the war may be altered by a quorum vote of all teams involved before the war begins.

Section 2. If one team attacks another team while the team being attacked is ON their base and the attacking team defeats them, the winning team shall have the option of taking all of the losing teams gumballs or claming a 2 battle victory.

Section 3. In each battle if you are hit 5 times you are Killed In Action (KIA). If you are KIA you must stop fighting for the rest of the battle.

Amendments

Amendment 1. If someone strikes an opponent in the eye with a gumball he shall be fined all of the gumballs at his base (at least 40); and he shall be made to not participate in the next 3 battles his team fights in.

Amendment 2. Gumballs may not be stolen from any teams base at any time during the war.

Amendment 3. It shall be unlawful to hit an opponent in the head during a war, unless the opponent is wearing a protective eye covering (not including glasses that are worn regularly).

Amendment 4. It shall be unlawful to use artillery (slingshots, catapults etc.) unless all team members in the war are wearing protective eye covering. (See Amendment 2 for a definition of “eye covering”)

Amendment 5 If pinecones are used in addition to gumballs a hit by a pinecone shall be equal to 5 hits with gumballs. A quorum of all teams involved in the war must decide whether or not pinecones will be used in the war.

Amendment 6. If a team quits during a battle the team they were fighting shall receive a 2-win victory.

Amendment 7. No team shall be allowed to quit a war.

Amendment 8. If a team member retreats back to his base during a battle he makes his team lose the battle. This rule does not apply during ammo retrieval.

Amendment 9. If anyone or any team does not adhere by any of these rules he/they are eliminated from the war.

Amendment 10. Every person has authority to enforce these rules, but not to alter.

Amendment 11. Only germane amendments may be added to this document.

Amendment 12. Only amendments unanimously agreed to by all the parties that ratified this document shall be added.

Amendment 13. A team leader shall be elected for each team before the war. These elections will take place in each team separately. The leader of each team will be decided by a quorum of the team members in the team the leader will be in control of.

One can tell that you certainly have an affinity for Constitutional law. Writing a constitution for gumball wars...well, let me just say that I haven't seen anything like it before. :)
